As we join together for the shibboleth chanting of “Healthcare CEOs are my friends,” this holiday season, I would like to talk some about my favorite subject, which is, of course, myself.
Ahem… firstly, I hurt my knee quite badly throwing potatoes in the creek. I have a creek on this property, and one of my pleasures has been randomly throwing produce from inside the kitchen out the door to it. Bad form on a fast pitch and the knee gak’d. Moving pretty slow so no skating, dancing or even walking briskly. Rocking a bit of a limp but hopefully better by spring and I shall be more mindfull when thowing potatos in the creek in the future.
People put trains under Christmas trees, and since I model trains, I came up with an idea to make a Christmas tree to hang over it. It took a couple of weeks to make due to the awkward shape; each dowel has to be glued in one at a time using some creative ways to hold the branch as glue sets. Turned out better than I thought it would for just winging it. It can spin too. Would also work great as a patch cable organizer in the offseason. A cow gave birth on one of my birthdays. I named her Carrie. I have two birthdays. One birthday my mom did the work, and the other birthday I did the work. I celebrate the latter, but the other is still a thing. Since knee gimped up, I have been perfecting homemade glue recipes that work well for paste-ups I make on the mini barn in sub-freezing temperatures. Can’t confirm or deny any plans to be a man about town with it, lulz. Been at the dentist a lot and getting more crowns on my teeth in January, which is always fun, but at least I get significantly better prices on them out here than in the big city.
Oh, and other things are that my favorite band this year was Snow Strippers.
My favorite music gear this year was not the Buchla 200 system I have currently needed to be cased up, but oddly, a tiny little 50-dollar utility mixer called the Debra Mini 4. I’ve been pushing 6000-watt Mackie stacks with this little fella, and it’s great. Rare to find a slide pot, metal housing, and exceptionally stable long-range 198 kHz Bluetooth in a tiny budget mixer.
maymay of the year:
We’ll be in Colorado in May to hang with a couple ✟frenchmen✟. Holla if wanna link up, Moogs in the mountains!😤
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and SAFE holiday wishes to everyone, and above all, remember to chant: “Healthcare CEOs are my friend” before each meal and bedtime. Count blessings, not bummers. Being sober rocks!-z
